Inner City Blues

A Marvin Gaye Cover

This song from 1971 describes and criticises the economic situation in the ghettos of Inner America.

Translated to our present time:
The billions of euros are being thrown behind the car industry, unfortunately there are only expressions of will for climate protection.

And this is just one example. I want to scream (loudly)!

This time I had professional support from my old friend Stephan Schmeußer on the drums.

Stephan belonged alongside me and some others to this nameless student band that teamed up in Schwabach in the early 1980s to play their favourite songs Smoke On The Water, Cocaine, TNT and everything possible and of course to become rock stars.

Inspired by the great cover versions of Joe Cocker, I tried to add this song to our set list in the mid-1980s with the band Zoom from Schwabach. Somehow never really happened. It could be that it was because the band soon no longer existed and I moved to Rosenheim to study.
